Going Back in Time

I have decided that I would start to write my thoughts on books that I have read. I think it would be cool to create a little journal of sorts on ALL the books that I have read. I have read many books this summer, and this is my latest! I have really come to love reading. It is my new favorite past-time. I don't know if I will have much time to read when this little boy of ours comes, but I sure hope to find some time to imagine a different world through a book.

I loved this book. The entire thing was wonderful, but I did have a hard time staying engaged for the first little bit. I think the reason this is, is because there were many characters to introduce. There had to be some sort of introduction, so even though the beginning was a little slow, I really loved it! This book is different than most; it is all written through letters. So fun to see the different relationships flourish through each letter. There are some wonderful characters in this book. The basis of the story is about Juliet, who is a writer right after WWII, who wants to write another book. She becomes aquainted with the little town of Guernsey and the rest is history. I reccommend this book to anyone who loves the sea and small little villages.

Here is a list of books that I have read this past year:

The Giver- Lois Lowry
I am a Mother- Jane Clayson Johnson
The Last Lecture- Randy Pausch
The Help-Kathryn Stockett
The Lost Symbol- Dan Brown
Hunger Games- Suzanne Collins

Catching Fire- Suzanne Collins
Mockingjay- Suzanne Collins
The Walk-Richard Paul Evans
Miles to Go- Richard Paul Evans
The Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society- Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows

All of these books were fabulous... Each for their own reasons. The Help was one of my favorites from this list.. probably because it was based from real life events and feelings. I loved the courage that a few of the women had in that book. The Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society is next in line because it has this wonderful old time feel and perfect setting. For those who are book lovers.. maybe we can give insight to one another on our favorites.

I am always up for suggestions... I need a new book to read, so any suggestions are welcome! Happy Reading!!!

Have I asked you if you're on goodreads? I put reviews on everything I read on there and that's how I get all my "to-read" books. Sign up on goodreads.com and add me as a friend if you aren't on it!
